LAWEP my dream my passion my goal and the only way to cement SOTF
The Summit of the Future needs legal binding; otherwise, it will not sustain. I am a legislator at heart, and I see things as processes that must live beyond individuals. I present to you my dream which we are enroute to setting up. Join us in this exciting journey….Be part of a legacy that will live beyond each one of us. All Agenda items of the UNSG need this glue. Trust me the Agenda cannot survive without legal frameworks which are binding on member states.
Legislative Alliance for Women Empowerment and Protection (LAWEP)
Objective:
LAWEP is an International, lobbying, activist, research, based organization which educates,
discusses, engages, projects, and affects global change on critical areas of women empowerment
and protection concern, for the most vulnerable women of the world. The main drivers of the
organization are politicians, parliamentarians, IFIs, INGOs, NGOs, academia, civil society, who are and will be using research-based evidence, to engage and lobby within their parliaments and
intelligentsia, to improve the legislative environments of their national parliaments on core women causes and concerns. The objective is to create MODEL legislation frameworks combined with associated CSR for select ‘major effect’ women empowerment causes so legislators and
corporates can execute appropriate legislation and implement linked CSR projects enforcing
minimal international human rights standards effectively and impact change for gender equality.
Grand Strategy:
The strategic goal for LAWEP is ‘equal partnership’. There are a labyrinth of women empowerment causes which require model legislation and combined CSR. ‘Major effect’ thematic concerns include Financial and Economic inclusion, Gender based violence, Democratic participation, Climate change livelihoods and Childcare. These are leverage drivers, whose associated model legislation and the most purpose driven sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (PDS-CSR)projects can create the most impact for sustainable women empowerment and protection.
Partners:
1. Parliamentarians (former and existing): for executing model legislation developed by
LAWEP through federal, national, and state parliaments.
2. Corporates/ Multinationals: As part of their existing ESG, CSR and purpose driven efforts,
corporates to lobby model legislation with governments and implement linked CSR for
purpose driven profits for all their stakeholders.
3. Academics: Research existing legislative and CSR efforts globally as well as monitor KPIs
on the same and analyze third party evaluations.
4. Experts: IFIs, UN agencies, INGOs, and NGOs, to be assisted in executing model
legislation and PDS-CSR within their existing mandates.
